Imagine a saddle that transforms rider position for optimal alignment and stability... While giving the horse maximum freedom of movement.
The results are astonishing.
That’s why everyone, not to mention their horse, wants it!
Here’s how it works...
The Equilibrio Effect
For the Horse:
-
A Happy Back – The panels are relatively flat and soft in all the right places, and the channel is wide. This distributes the rider’s weight and accommodates the horse’s back when in motion, which is critical. Most saddles fit the horse at rest, when the back is ‘down’ and prevent abdominal contraction, which results in a hollow and contracted back, discomfort and even pain when a rider is on board.
The Equilibrio design allows the spine to lift and ‘open’ because it facilitates abdominal contraction.
-
A Happy Neck – The cut back shape of the Equilibrio allows maximum scapula freedom. The more the scapula can swing backwards, the more horse can lift its withers and open (lengthen) its neck towards the bit. This promotes a more up-hill posture in the horse.
-
A Compact, Healthier Body – When a horse can lift its back through abdominal contraction, the body becomes more compact and strong. The horse can push upwards into the rider and also bring the hind legs closer, more underneath its body. This promotes a more “collected” stride and a stronger, healthier body.
-
Universal Fit – As if you needed any more benefits! This one even amazed us. During our trials, the Equilibrio has fit over 50 horses - ranging in height from 14.2 to 17.2 … and in build - narrow, medium or wide: Warmbloods, Arabians, Quarter Horses, Thoroughbreds, Mustang... The riders used their preferred pad (regular or airpad) and the saddle sat perfectly.
Note: In rare cases to slightly lift the front of the saddle, only a thin shim behind the scapula is required
- Stays in Place – The Equilibrio has impressive stability due to its long flaps and adjustable billet placements to correctly position the saddle with the girth in the right place. You can easily customize the settings for each horse as needed:
For the Rider:
-
Longer Leg – Do we really need to say anything more?! I always have admired Luis’s position in the saddle, especially how he places his legs. I’ve worked hard to get my legs closer to that position, but once I sat in the Equilibrio, it put my legs there and helped me feel where they need to be. Even better, every single rider’s legs absolutely transformed within minutes of riding in the saddle, and so did their horse’s way of going. This is because your legs are important boundaries to bend the horse or keep him straight. When your legs are loose, unstructured and in the wrong place, you will end up using your heels and calves instead of your whole leg. The Equilibrio gives you that long, steady, structured leg.
-
Great Seat – The ideal spot for your seat is somewhere between your crotch and your tail bone. Your pelvis has to be vertically positioned, not just for your structural health and to avoid a sore back, but to allow your horse to raise its back. Many saddles that force your leg down with big thigh blocks also cause you to have an arched back and tilted pelvis. The Equilbrio’s revolutionary design sits you light and right!
-
Stability - In the Equilibrio, riders are instantly able to offer more confident leadership and clarity of aids. The stability comes from the unique design of the seat and thigh blocks, and also from the little ‘flap strap’ that fits over your girth and securely holds down the saddle flap. The more advanced rider you are, the more you understand the value of this little strap! The success of Luis’s rider coaching is based on a high level of precision and any unwanted movement in the rider or saddle affects the results.
-
Transformation – The Equilibrio accelerates progress and advancement. In one ride the results are obvious. Can you imagine how much you will continue to improve in 30, 60 or a hundred rides?
“Riding in this saddle was an amazing experience! It naturally placed my pelvis in the correct position, allowing me to move effortlessly with my horse. I was more stable, balanced, and precise in my aids. The transformation in every rider who tried it was astonishing. This saddle truly helps riders become the ‘better’ rider we all want to be!" - Priscilla Roberts
